Why curiosity matters more than experience

For decades, experience was often the most important success factor.

Whoever had been around long enough had an advantage.

Today, knowledge changes faster than ever before.

That does not mean experience becomes worthless.

Quite the opposite.

Experience creates orientation.

Experience helps recognize patterns.

Experience prevents many unnecessary mistakes.

But experience alone does not create the future.

That is why we use a simple formula at Movaris.AI:

S=M×C2

Success = Maturity × Curiosity²

Of course, it is purely coincidental that the formula also contains my initials, “MC”.

Maturity stands for maturity.

For experience.

For judgment.

For what people have learned over the course of their working lives.

Curiosity stands for curiosity.

For the willingness to try new paths.

To ask questions.

To challenge old assumptions.

The interesting observation is:

Curiosity is not linear.

Curiosity creates experiments.Experiments create insight.Insight creates new possibilities.

That is why the value of curiosity grows disproportionately.

Leadership teams now face an important choice.

Do they want to protect what they already know?

Or do they want to equip their organization to create new knowledge?

The future will be shaped by the companies that answer this question honestly.

Impulse question

When was the last time you deliberately tried something even though you did not know whether it would work?
